We remove the unit carefully, protect the window frame and sill, check for loose panels or sharp hardware, and help seal the opening so weather and insects do not come through after removal.
If the unit is heavy, above street level, leaking, or mounted with a bracket, send photos before the visit so we can plan safe handling and avoid damage to the window or facade.
For NYC disposal, air conditioners that contain CFC/Freon normally need a DSNY appointment before collection. Newer R32 or R600a units may need manufacturer or private-carter disposal instead, so send a photo of the warning label if you see one.

Can't tell from photos? We come out and diagnose on site for $99 plus sales tax. It is credited toward approved work done within 30 days — longer when agreed in writing in advance.
3. $150 Work Minimum
Every job is quoted and approved before work starts — no surprises. After a $99 assessment, a $150 job means you pay the $51 difference. Prices are plus NY sales tax where applicable.
4. Single Units, Extra Units & the Fall Bundle
A single window unit up to 12,000 BTU out, the window closed and sealed, is $150 — the work minimum; 12,000+ BTU or over 80 lb takes two technicians at $175–$225. Each additional unit in the same visit is $45–$75 each, bracket removal and patch $35–$60 each, and haul-away is a $45 pass-through. The install + fall-removal bundle — a window AC install up to 12,000 BTU in a double-hung window plus the removal visit in the fall, paid at install — is $300–$375 for the first unit and $150–$225 each for additional units on both visits.

How much does AC removal cost?
Pricing is based on unit type, weight, floor level, bracket condition, access, and whether the unit needs curbside placement, building storage, or disposal coordination. Send photos for the fastest scope review.
Do you restore the window after removal?
We remove the bracket when requested and appropriate, close and lock the window, check loose panels or hardware, and install weatherstripping or a foam seal when appropriate to reduce drafts.
Can you dispose of the old unit?
We can help remove the unit from the window and coordinate the disposal path. In NYC, residents usually need a DSNY CFC/Freon removal appointment before an air conditioner can be collected. Some newer R32 or R600a units require manufacturer or private-carter disposal instead.
Is fall AC removal required in NYC?
NYC doesn't mandate seasonal removal for most buildings, but many co-ops and condos do. We handle end-of-season removal for tenants, property managers, and building supers after reviewing unit access and building rules.
