Exterior entry
The old storm door was removed and replaced with a clean new exterior door, sealed and ready for years of use.
A tired rear entry had an old aluminum storm door and a glass-insert door hung in a worn frame. Repair Asap removed both doors and the frame, set a new prehung entry door plumb and level, installed a single lock, capped the unused second lock hole, and sealed the perimeter with spray foam in about three and a half hours.
The rear entry had an aluminum storm door in front of an older exterior door with divided-glass inserts, both hung in a frame that was worn and past its service life.
The customer had already purchased a new prehung exterior door. It arrived bored for two locks even though only one lockset was wanted, so the extra hole would need to be closed cleanly during installation.
The same doorway, inside and out: an old storm door and glass-insert door replaced with a single weather-tight entry door.
The old storm door was removed and replaced with a clean new exterior door, sealed and ready for years of use.
Inside, the doorway went from an aging storm-and-glass setup to a finished door with new casing and a single lever lock.
The starting setup had an aluminum storm door, an older glass-insert door, and a worn frame at the rear entry.

Repair Asap removed the aluminum storm door and the old glass-insert entry door, then took out the worn frame down to the rough opening.
A new prehung door frame was set into the opening and shimmed plumb, level, and square so the door would swing true and latch correctly.
The new door was hung and adjusted, a single lockset was installed, and the unused second lock bore was capped with a finish cover plate before the perimeter was foamed and sealed.
Selected progress photos show the demo, the new frame set level, and the new door hung and sealed.

The new door was delivered pre-bored for two locks, but the customer only wanted one. Instead of leaving an open hole, Repair Asap fitted a finish cover plate over the unused bore so the door looks intentional and stays secure.
Around the frame, the gap between the new jamb and the rough opening was filled with low-expansion spray foam and sealed, helping keep out drafts, water, and pests while holding indoor temperature.
The door was checked for an even reveal and a firm latch so it closes solidly every time, and the interior casing was reinstalled for a finished look.
The finished entry closes cleanly with a single lock, new interior casing, and a fully sealed perimeter.

This project connects to exterior door installation, door repair, lock installation, and weatherproof caulking and sealing.
Often yes. When the rough opening is sound, a standard prehung exterior door and frame swap is usually completed in a few hours. This Staten Island job took about three and a half hours, including removing a storm door and the old glass-insert door.
No. The unused bore is closed with a finish hole-filler or cover plate so the door looks intentional and stays secure with a single lock, exactly as it was handled on this project.
