Repair ASAP LLC takes on furniture that is worth repairing: solid wood and mid-range to high-end pieces, in wood or metal. For inexpensive flat-pack furniture, a repair often costs more than replacing the piece, so send photos first: the free photo estimate tells you whether the repair makes sense before anyone books a visit.
We serve Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island and Nassau County. Repair ASAP LLC is an NYC DCWP-licensed Home Improvement Contractor (License No. 2137199-DCWP) with general liability insurance, and a COI is available for co-op and condo buildings.

Furniture Repairs We Take On
Loose or Wobbly Joints
Chair and table joints that have worked loose are re-glued and clamped.
Legs, Rails & Stretchers
Cracked or broken legs, rails and stretchers on chairs and tables are repaired.
Drawers That Stick or Drop
We work on the runners, slides and glides so drawers open and close properly again.
Sagging Wardrobe & Cabinet Doors

Lifted Edge Veneer
Lifted edge veneer is re-glued.
Failed or Sticky Finish
A finish that stays soft, tacky or cloudy is stripped and refinished, as on the Astoria table.
Metal Frames & Hardware
Stripped or broken bolts, brackets, glides and hardware on metal furniture frames are replaced.
What We Don't Take On
No Upholstery or Leather Re-Covering
We do not re-cover upholstery, fabric or leather.
No Welding
We do not weld. Metal-frame work is limited to bolts, brackets, glides and hardware.
No Conservation-Grade Antique Restoration
We do not take on antique restoration that requires conservation work.
Inexpensive Flat-Pack: Often Cheaper to Replace
When replacing a low-cost flat-pack piece costs less than repairing it, we will tell you rather than quote the repair.

2. $165–$450 Per Item
Wood furniture repair is priced per item, labor only. Materials are extra and quoted with the repair.
3. $99 On-Site Assessment
If photos are not enough, we assess the piece on site. The $99 is credited toward the work if you go ahead.
4. $150 Work Minimum
The $150 work minimum is the site-wide floor for work performed on a visit, not a charge on top of the per-item price. NYC sales tax is added separately where applicable.

The Whole Piece
One photo of the entire chair, table, dresser or cabinet, so we can judge the construction and whether it is worth repairing.

The brand if you know it, and whether the piece is solid wood, veneer or a metal frame.

Your neighborhood, and whether a co-op or condo building needs a COI before the visit.

Wood Furniture Repair FAQ
How much does wood furniture repair cost in NYC?
Most repairs run $165–$450 per item for labor only; materials are extra. Work performed has a $150 minimum. The photo estimate is free, and if an on-site assessment is needed it costs $99 and is credited toward the work.
Is my furniture worth repairing?
Solid wood and mid-range to high-end pieces, in wood or metal, usually are. For inexpensive flat-pack furniture a repair often costs more than replacing the piece; the free photo estimate is the way to check before a visit is booked.
Can a sticky or tacky finish be fixed?
Yes. A sticky or tacky finish is fixed by stripping it and refinishing the piece; another coat on top usually will not fix it. On the Astoria table the soft polyurethane was stripped, the wood sanded, the stain color matched with the client and a new protective polyurethane finish applied. That table took two days to allow for stain drying and curing; timelines vary with the piece and the finish.
Can refinishing be done in my apartment?
Sometimes small touch-ups can be done on site, but refinishing a sticky or failed finish usually needs controlled sanding, stain, ventilation, drying and curing conditions. The Astoria table was handled in a workshop rather than rushed inside the apartment.
Do you do upholstery, welding or antique restoration?
No. We do not re-cover upholstery, fabric or leather, we do not weld, and we do not take on antique restoration that requires conservation work. On metal furniture we replace stripped or broken bolts, brackets, glides and hardware.
